In an interview given to several media outlets, including L’Équipe, David Popovici said on Sunday that he wants to compete against Léon Marchand in the 200 m and spoke about his ongoing pursuit of perfection in swimming.

After narrowly winning the 100 m freestyle on Wednesday, David Popovici won the 200 m freestyle on Friday at the European Championships in Paris. The 21-year-old Romanian, who won in 1:44.15, thus achieves a third consecutive 100 m–200 m double.
